I go to tokyo a few times a year for work for the last decade. My favorite area to stay is Akasaka, right between Akasaka-mitsuke station and Akasaka station. This puts you in walking distance from two of the most convenient subway lines for getting around without having to do complicated transfers for much of where I assume you’ll want to go.
