If I recall the 88 octane is a higher alcohol level (15% vs 10%), I ran it once kinda by accident. It was fine. But, I would say for extended constant fills, just do the 87 as Kia suggests not to use fuel with over 15% alcohol, and just by chance the 88 runs high for some reason, it's better to play it safe imo.
