The trail was a steady uphill climb similar to Skyline lake. It was overcast and snowing the whole time and just like other reviewer said, there's a sign to warn us not to go beyond artillery point so it's probably not a good idea to venture out to Summit Lake as the resort might use artillery for avalanche control.
