Looks like Bluetooth is needed for discovery. I will continue using Solid Explorer which transfers files to/from my LAN PC at ~20MB/s using SMB. Uninstalling Nearby Share leaves behind hundreds of registry entries, and hundreds of files in the Program Files > Nearby Share directory. Manual cleanup necessary.
