I placed a GoPro to get up close and personal with an annoying grinding noise on my new F150. I think it is an issue with the IWEs that are used to engaged 4WD.

There is a check valve with a T right under the IWE solenoid on the driver side firewall (it's blue and white/clear), you can pull it out easily. I was able to suck air both ways through it. IWE noises are only evident while in motion, as would any other rotational noises that are common such as differential bearings. Groaning noises are usually associated with a bad bearing, generally speaking, a wheel bearing. Unless you have an F150 in which case it could also be bad front differential bearings.I have no idea how long it has been broken, could have been broken for a LONG time and have never noticed.
