Artesa Winery is located just north of Carneros Creek Winery on Dealy Lane. In 1997, Artesa underwent a $10 million dollar renovation financed by the venerable Codorniu Family. Their ancestors began making wine in 16th century Spain. The winery is located in the Carneros Creek watershed. This is a small valley in the northeast part of the Carneros. The 2017 vintage saw generous winter rains that refreshed ground water supplies and led to a cool, mild spring which prepared the vineyards for the summertime heat. Harvest began for Artesa on August 11 and moved quickly. A long, even summer ripening season ended with high temperatures in excess of 100 degrees for five days in early August. Enjoy!
